“Eat. Drink. Repent. Repeat.” The slogan of Beer Church and also, runners and hikers everywhere.

Beer Church Brewing Co in New Buffalo, Michigan, once a Civil War era church and improvised armory now stakes its claim as one of the best places to eat and drink (and repent and repeat!) in Southwest Michigan. After 12,000 steps on the beach earlier that day, I was thrilled to check out the patio. Construction just finished on an upper patio level, giving customers a beautiful view of New Buffalo and Lake Michigan.

With small craft beers brewed on site, a cocktail menu and wine list, Beer Church offers something for everyone. It is also kid-friendly, both indoor and outdoor. The communion bread with burrata is a must-try, as well as the wood fired Napoletana pizza. While street parking directly in front of the restaurant is limited, there is a large free lot across the street.

Aside from the amazing food and drinks, I’ve yet to have anything less than impeccable service with a smile. Merchandise is also available for purchase, as well as 32 oz Crowlers. While New Buffalo offers up a score of restaurants, Beer Church is arguably the best and a must-visit!
