Beer Bones Taproom

Beer Bones Taproom

Loudonville, NY

It would not be hyperbole to say that the COVID-19 pandemic changed the way that the hospitality industry did business. As I am writing this, June 19, 2022, one of the most read articles on the New York Times is how Happy Hour is back but not in the way it was before. The world, once again, has changed.

Why am I telling you this? Because the Beer Bones Taproom from February 2020 is very different from the Beer Bones Taproom of June of 2022. I liked the Beer Bones from the before times. I love the Beer Bones that has developed.

I am a sucker for blistered Shishito peppers. Yes, I know. I love them and will always order them. BBT has great Shishito peppers. They have wonderful Birria Tacos. They have, yes, pretzels. They have many other things. They have vegan items. They have gluten free items. We have eaten every item on the starter menu and most of the mains menu and have not found something we disliked. We have found that we prefer things to others. I like the Mexican Street Corn Dip a lot more than my partner does. Though we will fight over the Cauliflower "Burnt Ends", as an example of preference not meaning the other item is not good.

It is a taproom, so there is a well curated beer list. They generally have my current favorite, the exceptional Sip of Sunshine, as well as offerings from The Alchemist. As I have been getting away from big IPAs (for body image issues...I have gotten fat...ter), there always been a great selection of sours and other options that are less calorie dense. They have a well stocked cooler with a number of non-alcoholic options as well.

It is in a busy strip mall so parking is occasionally hairy. Well behaved dogs are a feature of the taproom. I have seen well behaved children as well. There is a fee automatically applied for credit card users, so you may want to bring cash.

And on to the patio...

Would I feel totally comfortable here grungy after a run or a hike? I don't know. Loudonville is weird. I haven't tried it. Maybe after my next adventure I will roll in for a beer, some shishito peppers and some cauliflower and I will update the write-up.
